Parent Custody Issues
PARENT CUSTODY ISSUES
In the case of students with divorced or separated parents, the primary custodian of the child must be documented and presented to the school as soon as such a determination has been made by the court. As such, no student will be dismissed to a non-custodial parent without written or verbal permission by the parent custodian indicated in the court documentation. In the case of equal or split custody, either custodial parent will be permitted to dismiss the student.
Nevertheless, the school will notify the other custodial parent as a courtesy if no advance notice was presented prior to dismissal. Finally, upon request, and unless there exists legal restraints against such, the non-custodial parent will be provided access to all student records and school related activities. If there is not a court-order indicating custody, then both listed parents will have custodial rights.
